I'm sure, if you have a yard, you already mow it on a regular basis,
but if you feel like putting it off, just think of the calories you can
burn doing yard work today. These days it's so tempting to sit and watch
TV, play on the computer, or just stare at your phone all day, but by
resisting the urge to be lazy and mowing your yard by push mowing, you
can get work done, take time off from your sedentary lifestyle, burn
calories, and get some vitamin D all at the same time.
Here's some suggestions to make the most of your yard work. For the
first 30 -45 minutes mow without a shirt, but put on coconut oil for
sunscreen. It should protect you from the harmful rays of the sun while
still letting in enough of the sun's good rays to give you a vitamin D
boost, assuming your mowing sometime between 11-3:30 or so.
Any more time put on a shirt to protect yourself from the rays of the
sun. Make sure you have a hat on to protect your eye area from the sun
and your head from getting burned.
For safety, make sure you take frequent breaks, especially in the
hottest days of summer. Drink plenty of water and stay cool. It's easy
to get too hot and not even realize it, until after you've stopped
working. Getting heat stroke is definitely not healthy.
Don't be lazy. Get your work done, but just make sure you do it
safely. All exercise isn't just what you do in a gym. You can actually
accomplish some things and burn calories at the same time.
Now just don't ruin it all by eating cake and ice cream when your
done. Give yourself something healthy to eat. Reward your hard work with
some organic yogurt mixed with nuts, maybe a banana, or some
blueberries, if you need something sweet. The main thing is to eat
healthy so you don't end up taking in more calories than you burned
while working in the yard.

The Nutri Ninja Food Blender
I love the Nutri Ninja. The version that we use is the
2-in-1 and it's awesome! Before we used to juice, but
using the Ninja food blender is actually turning out to
be a lot easier, and I think healthier in the long run.
