When I was growing up a small for my age, skinny kid,  I was inspired about a lot TV, movie, and even comic book heroes to exercise and body build which culminated in my current health and fitness mind set. Sylvester Stallone movies were on the top of my must watch over and over again movie list, but perhaps my earliest influence came from comic books. You have to wonder how many body builders and strength trainers are really just trying to emulate their favorite comic book superhero.

In this section of hip2bfit.com I'm going to run down some of my comic book favorites and how they motivated me to workout, especially those heroes like Batman or the Golden Age Atom that built their superhero hero careers from training their bodies to be super weapons without gamma rays or being born on another planet. Not that Superman isn't one of my favorite characters mind you.  Go to our Superheroes with gym power section for our analysis of comic book superheroes like the Golden Age Atom, Batman, Wildcat, Guardian, and others that had to rely on the gym and good old fashioned exercise to get their powers.

In the Superhero Actor Workouts section we take a look at how actors got into shape to play superheroes on screen.
