A lot of people either neglect or overwork their abs. Steve Reeves has some pretty good advice on training the midsection. Steve himself never worked his abs because he felt that he worked them indirectly during his workout. For example, while doing Tricep Pushdowns he could feel his abs tightening. But even though Steve didn't train his abs as a part of his workout, doesn't mean that everybody shouldn't. As Steve points out, a lot of people suffer from chronic back pain as a result of underdeveloped abs. So if you need to strengthen your abs you should do crunches, with your hands on your forehead instead of the back of your neck. Do one set of as many as reps as you can handle in perfect form. Crunches will also help you take a few inches off the waistline.
